About Mrs. Schlehuber
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year and our awesome 6th grade class! I am feeling so blessed to be here at St. James Academy and I am looking forward to a wonderful year of discovery with all my students. My teaching career began over 20 years ago when I taught at San Marcos High School. After nine years at SMHS, I began teaching middle school Language Arts and Social Studies at St. John the Evangelist in Encinitas. Now, I find myself starting the next phase of my teaching journey as a 6th grade teacher here at St. James. In my first few years here, I have experienced such a warm, welcoming community. I am once again reminded that God has a plan for all of us, and we just have to place our faith in Him..
This year is a transition year in my own family as our baby leaves for her freshman year at the University of Notre Dame. She will be joining her older sister who will be a senior. Our oldest daughter graduated from Notre Dame in 2015 and now lives in Boston. As you can imagine, we are huge Fighting Irish fans! Rounding out our family is our lovable Cavalier King Charles, Millie.
